Sinéad is the managing partner of O’Loghlin Hughes. A graduate of the law schools of Trinity College Dublin, the Honorable Society of King’s Inns and the Law Society of Ireland, she has over ten years’ professional experience advising on the interface between private business and EU/Irish rule makers.
Sinéad advises leading international and domestic clients across the health, insurance and financial services sectors, with particular expertise in health law and regulation. She also has a wide range of corporate experience including M&A, corporate re-organisation, cross border mergers and joint ventures.
At the nomination of the Irish Government, Sinéad advised the Department of Finance on the transposition into Irish law of the EU’s Solvency II framework. Appointed by the Minister for Health, Sinéad currently sits on the Board of the Dublin Dental University Hospital and is the Chairperson of the Risk, Quality and Safety Board Committee.
Sinéad’s professional experience includes:
- Advising domestic and international stakeholders in the Irish private and voluntary nursing homes market on funding arrangements, regulatory interface and litigation strategies;
- Advising life assurers on outsourcing arrangements, solvency rules and Central Bank of Ireland regulatory compliance requirements; and
- Advising international product/service providers on Irish and EU distribution models and consumer protection arrangements.
