Tom is a partner in O’Loghlin Hughes. A graduate of the College of Europe, Bruges and the National University of Ireland, Galway, Tom has over 25 years’ professional legal services experience working in Ireland and in the EU in the private and public sectors. Tom has particular interest in the EU/Irish markets for life assurance, non-life insurance and private health insurance. He has also developed expertise in the healthcare services market and is recognised as a market leader.
Tom’s specialism is the provision of legal advices to enable clients and service providers to profit better from the commercial and legal benefits of EU cross-border trade frameworks and distribution arrangements. His practice includes a focus on State rules governing fair competition and regulation within the Irish market. Tom’s clients include leading Irish and EU service providers across different regulated sectors.
Tom’s professional experience includes:
- Advising leading EU and Irish insurers on cross-border transactions and mergers including portfolio transfer arrangements;
- Providing advices to market leaders in the Irish private and voluntary nursing home sector on all aspects of their operations; and
- Advising on and drafting a range of commercial contracts, including distribution and franchise agreements for clients in a variety of regulated sectors.
